3D U2 concert film, opens Jan 23!?! Why did no one tell me about this!?!
Musically, I thought 2007 was pretty great. Album of the year? Sky Blue Sky for sure with Hold Steady’s Boys and Girls in America a close second. Honourable mentions to Arctic Monkeys, Amy Winehouse (Back in Black was actually released in the UK in ‘06 but whatever), Bright Eyes, Arcade Fire, and Iron & Wine’s best album yet.
Top songs…
1. Either Way – Wilco
2. Stuck Between Stations – The Hold Steady
3. Back in Black – Amy Winehouse
4. Do Me a Favor – Arctic Monkeys
5. Four Winds – Bright Eyes
6. Flightless Bird, American Mouth – Iron & Wine
7. Friday Night at the Drive-in Bingo – Jens Lekman
8. Unless It’s Kicks -Okkervil River

Favorite track so far is House of Cards:
Bored of all my current music today so I succumbed to the lure of iTunes.
San Fransisco’s Two Gallants…
Nordic melancholy (best kind, obviously) from Swedish composer Eric Enocksson…
A little dusty Americana from Londoner Michael J Sheehy formerly of Dream City Film Club…
Caribou’s latest album Andorra, which Mojo describe as “vertiginous psych-pop from Canuck genre crushers”. Can’t top that…
Melody Day:
Haven’t really given any of it a good listen yet. Probably all crap. Oh well, at least I offloaded some of that annoying cash.
I’m going to pick Jessi’s brain next week and figure out how she puts the music right on her site so cleverly. Probably a plug-in or some such doohickey.
